Funeral

We traveled to attend the funeral of T's grandfather.
The trek got off to a rough start.
A truck on the highway thrust several pieces of something (?) toward our truck
and after a loud noise followed by a hissing sound,
we had a flat tire.
In the middle of nowhere.
But T got the spare tire on (thankful the suburban has a full size spare)
and C was fascinated by the process.

We made it in time for the viewing on Thursday and the funeral on Friday.
It is a sad time, but good to honor and reflect
on such a well loved man.

At the cemetery precariously located on the side of a mountain,
T showed the children his father's grave stone.
E in the crisp January air holding a rose from her
great grandfather's casket located just behind her
while standing near
her grandfather's grave.

The girls were given a rose from the casket.
They were beautiful.
